my husband want to take mobile phone with him in the delivery room to take 1st photo of baby after birth. I am not sure if its allowed or not in public hospital?

Pls advice!

I'm not sure, but I'd guess probably not. I wasn't allowed to have my phone (or rather, I wasn't allowed to have my phone 'on') when I was in the 'assessment room' (where you go when you first arrive) in case it interfered with equipment - so I'd imagine it's the same in the delivery room. But can't hurt to try and sneak it in anyway :)

You can't turn on the phone but you can have it on- the equipment your phone will interfere with will be equipments used to monitor you and your baby (I think?) so better not to turn on during labour! My husband did turn on the phone to take pic and whatsapp it to family when baby was born! I had to use land line to call my mom when I was in the delivery room

My wife used her phone during her delivery, well at least at the start between contractions - none of the staff complained.

It's not allowed on the delivery room itself... You can have it with you but it should be turn off. When baby comes, you can then turn it on for some photo op.
