Infertility Treatment and Insurance

Hi ladies!! Just wondering does anyone know of any insurance company in Hong Kong that has insurance policy that covers expenses for infertility treatment? I know most insurance policies dont cover them and specifically exclude anything that is related to inferitlity treatment, like tests/hormone injection (not to mention IVF/IUI etc)......it would be really good if there is one out there as the cost of infertility treatment, especially since it may be a repeated process each month is very expensive...

What about just getting a HSG scan test? Is that usually covered?

Would be grateful if anyone could please share with me their experiences! many thanks in advance!

Diane

Infertility treatment and insurance

hi ladies,
thank you so much for the info abt the insurance co. but could you pls advise when should I approach them abt the IVf treatment I need, before or after I buy the insurance, I am bit confuse if i tell them in advance they might not cover me... it would be better if you share your experiences...

We were covered for 2 IUIs per year and 2 IVF cycles in a lifetime, firstly with Cigna and then with Aetna.

All other tests, medication, ultrasounds, consultations etc were fully covered.

Hi Linda, Diane can you pls tell me which insurance you finally went with? I'm in the same boat, want to try ivf but not sure if there is some cooling off period after getting the insurance. I was thinking of going with dkv

Hello there, I'm thinking of DKV, did you go with them firstime mommy in the end and actually did IVF, just wanted to know when you should apply, whether there are any terms and the claims process. Have no idea when to apply. Your advice is appreicated. Thanks allot.
