Infertility support

I had 2 failed IUIs and 3 IVFs and on my third cycle of IVF, I got pregnant with a baby boy.

My husband and I wanted to give up after the 2nd failed IVF, but decided to give it a try for the one last time so I wanted to tell people who are going through the same thing to keep trying and don't give up. Just wanted to share my exprience on the subject as it is very close to my heart...

Yes, the people at Pacific Prime did mention that point as well that some insurers do and some don't cover IVF pregnancies.

You're right. The waiting period is so long. I am better off paying for it myself BUT making sure that my insurance covers my pregnancy by IVF when and if it works...

Thanks once again. By the way if you need an insurance that covers IVF, I recommend speaking to the people at Pacific Prime. I spoke to a lady named Aurora and she was really helpful although the conclusion is the same as yours. That it's just too long of a waiting period.

I spoke to the people at Pacific Prime regarding newborn coverage...they were not as helpful! Despite their website stating that they do have newborn insurance, when I spoke to them, they told me they didn't have anything. I wasn't entirely convinced that the lady I spoke to knew what she was talking about. Guess it depends who you get on the other end of the line :smile:

I am mother to a 4 year boy we were lucky enough to have after 8 stimulated cycles ( In Australia)= 13 embryo transfers. we have since further transferred 4 frozen and done another 2 stimulated unsuccessfully to give him a sibling.
Its a hard slog , very emotionally and financially taxing however anyone who's done it and is lucky enough to have a child will tell you its sooo worth it. I was 36 when we started Ivf and 40 when I had my son.

I tried everything - acupuncture, herbs, natroupath, blessings, crystals, healers you name it I did it !! Doctors always say its a numbers game "probability" But at least you know you've done everything possible to give yourself the best chance.

Please I know how hard it is feel free to message me for support.
 
Just want to ask for an opinion here: Recently got a new job with well balanced working hours. However my boss treated me not nice and I feel useless at my job. No direction, he told you whatever expectation he wanted without any guidelines. I am worry that if the situation keeps going on, it will affect my chance of pregnancy. People do not need to quite their job for a higher chance of pregnancy, I knew that. Keep thinking abt being useless does affect my mood and deal with my husband
 
Oh my gosh... I know what you mean, Aral... about being willling to try everything. I have to say... I started hating the word "probability" as I was going through ART treatments. I constantly wanted to shout "I'm not just a statistic"!

My husband and I are just starting IVF and have an appointment with Dr Tracy Yeung tomorrow. This is our first experience with IVF and are quite nervous (or at least I am!) about it.

I would love to hear what your thoughts and experiences were like with Dr Yeung, if you don't mind.

I really liked Dr Yeung and she is still my private OB/GYN for my pregnancy now! She's fairly young - mid thirties is my guess. She has lots of time for you and doesn't make you feel rushed. Great bedside manner and checks you are doing well throughout the procedures. Not sure if you speak canto - mine isn't great but Dr Yeung is happy to speak in English and is pretty fluent. She used to work at Queen Mary ART centre so I think she's got pretty good background experienced.

The clinic is nice and the nurses are friendly. I would advise to try and get the first appointment of the day if you can as you'll find that sometime there is quite a wait - maybe 1 hour or so after your appointment time before you go in...perhaps because they don't rush people through like some places I've heard of.

The lab is in the building right next door so very convenient.

I'm an expat who has recently moved to Hong Kong.

So happy to have found this thread since it resonates with my situation as well. I have been experiencing so much frustration and disappointment in TTC. My husband and I have been trying for 10 months and each month is becoming even more discouraging.

It would be great to know if there are any fertility meet up groups so that like folks can share experiences and encouraging words/information. Please let me know if there are any or if any folks would be interested in meeting for coffee/lunch.
