Inexpensive maternity clothes

I have been viewing maternity clothes online and the prices for something you will wear only a few months are ridiculous. Does anybody know of a store in HK that sells reasonably priced clothes for pregnant women? I am not too interested in great looking clothes. Just something comfortable.

SoLong, What size are you looking for as I have a few items for sale, pm me if you would like pictures.

As for buying in HK, I could never really find anything here so I always either ordered online or had relatives send items from the UK. Have you tried a few of the places advertised here like Bun in the Oven?

I was in the new H&M store yesterday on Queens Road in Central and saw some marternity clothes on the top floor that were really reasonable.

Hi SoLong,

I just posted a message under "enerything else" about maternity clothes. I was at the new H&M in Central yesterday and they have a maternity section on the top floor (back corner) where all the kids clothes are. I found t-shirts for as low as $79.00 and pants for $199.00 and up. Worth checking out. Please check my other post because I was a little more specific about what H&M had.

Good luck!

if u don't mind them being not branded, then why don't you just go to the markets eg the one in causewaybay across from sogo or even north point. i don't think they have them in ladies market anymore.

the fashion these days are the long tops which are great for maternity wear. for cheap seasonal and long plain coloured tops, sweaters, jumpers - try Inside out or IN Fashion both in Causweway Bay, Lockhart Rd.

I was just complaining to my husband how this season's tops were just perfect for preggers (I gave birth 6 months ago!). You will find some nice ones at Zara which you are likely to be able to wear again after you give birth (with a little twist like a chain or thick belt).

Thanks so much ladies!

I think I will take a look at bossini clothes, though I fear they might not be my size. I am more interested in bottoms for now. And since I have long legs, it becomes difficult in HK to buy pants or jeans for me. H&M sounds like a good option as well.
I have been to those shops in Wan Chai and ended up buying 2 linen pants that are comfortable for the time being. Not looking for anythin branded. But going to those shops means its a hit or miss situation. Anyway, I might go to other such shops. It will atleast make a good walk. :)
Thanks again!

With my first, I spent money on some ugly maternity clothes that I never even wore much. With the trends gearing towards billowy blouses, empire waists, loose fitting knit tops etc, I'd rather buy normal clothes (maybe even in a bigger size) so I can wear them again. The only things you really need in maternity are pants and jeans. But I bought some pants from Zara on sale ($300 each) in a bigger size and I just use a rubber band or belly band to secure it.

If you are Shenzhen goer, you can get stuff made there for a fraction of the price of anything you can buy in the shops. I invested in a pair of maternity jeans which I got from H&M on a visit to London which I am sure they will stock in the new HK store. Not daggy and I still where them around theo house now as they are super comfy and can accommodate my still fat tummy. Then I got 3-4 t-shirts made in Shenzhen for about $60 each and wore them to death after work and on weekends. it's gets monotonous wearing the same thing but not worth too much investment for a short time.

The Bossini on Queen's Road C, opposite the new H&M, carries the maternity and baby line. And I think the CWB one, near World Trade Centre, has it too.

Just walked into Bossini and noticed that they have started to sell some nice cotten maternity tops as well as jeans. Price looked reasonable. Yes, it's pretty outrageous buying maternity clothes in HK. There's a branch of maternity clothing shops called OIO I think. They have a store in TST ToysRUs that might have some affordable items on sale. Otherwise, I noticed that there are some people selling second-hand maternity clothes on Asiaxpat.com.hk. If you don't mind, might be a good way to pick up some good deals.

At five months, I am already too big to fit into most maternity clothes in the designer maternity shops (e.g. Formes). Disheartened, I walked into Marks & Spencer, and was amazed to discover a wealth of big sized tops and bottoms (pants, shorts and skirts) with elastic waists (sizes 16-18). They are a FRACTION of the price of the maternity shops. I'll still check out H&M though!
