Induction at QMH?

Hi everyone,

I'm overdue with my first baby and the doctors at Queen Mary have scheduled me in for an induction on Monday if the bubs hasn't appeared by then.

Would love to hear from anyone who's been induced at QM - how exactly it was done, how long it took, any tips on what to take, etc - just so I'm a bit more mentally prepared in case it does end up happening!

You've got a a few days to get this labour going. Have you tried all the tricks - Rasberry Leaf Tea, Spicy food, Reflexology and my favorite sex?
 
From what I heard from a friend, her induction at QM ( a few years ago) went very smoothly. She got admitted in the morning. They don't let you eat anything and she recommends you have a bigh breakfast. It took several hours and she was able to get an epidural. Have your birth plan ready.
 
Thanks for the tips! The doctor told me it'll take two days...a whole day/night of observation and fetal monitoring and then the actual induction on Tuesday! Hopefully the bubs will arrive this weekend....
