Indonesian Post-Natal Massage and Wrap Sessions

Hi there.

I am looking for recommendations on this type of specialized post-natal wrap. It is common in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia and it worked wonders for me after the birth of my baby 2 years ago.

I am expecting again soon and looking for someone who does this in Hong Kong. Basically, the whole process involves a body massage with massage oils, concentrating on stomach muscles, followed by a snug fitting wrap with a long cloth that is worn around the stomach and tied on. The wrap is worn for 8 hours during the day, then removed. The whole process is repeated again the next day for 10 consecutive days.

Any leads out there on spas or individuals who do this?

Hi there, I tried to look for someone who could do this after I had my first baby 20 months ago but had no luck. Would be interested to know if there are any leads since then!
 
I'm also looking for a person who is able to do the malay/indonesian massage. Let me know if you know anyone in Hong Kong!!

Has anyone any experience with bringing someone over from Malaysia?

any recommendations in HK? All my Singaporean girlfriends who have used this massage and wrap technique have ALL regained their figures, esp around the abdomen/waist/hip/thigh area regardless or whether they are natural or c-section births!!!!!!!!!!!!

tough as in painful? or just inconvenient. what if you had not much tone there to begin with, would it be pointless - or still help? Rani, I'd like the PM message too please!

2. what type of oils does she use? (you mentioned we need to provide our own wraps/girdle...)
3. is it an Indian massage or Indonesian/Thai that she does?
4. I guess you were happy with her massages - did they work for you?

The baby massage is around 20 mins and she'll also bathe baby.
Mummy massage is around an hour. In addition to massaging my belly, I had a lot of blocked milk ducts and was in a lot of pain, so she helped me with that.

2. what type of oils does she use? (you mentioned we need to provide our own wraps/girdle...) We used Almond Oil. You can get it at the Indian Grocery stores. She actually picked up the bottle for me, as she she lives in TST.

3. is it an Indian massage or Indonesian/Thai that she does? She does the Indian massage.

Yes, I looked and felt great for the first 6-months. I lost all the baby weight as I was also nursing D.

However, once we started weaning, I put it all back on and more. Sorry, I know it's not what you want to hear. I should have started working out but I just didn't have the time. I launched GeoBaby and unfortunately had a difficult helper. Hence, balancing work/ and D was a real struggle.

I've 2 Indonesian wrap that you tied all around your tummy. I know how to do it, but I dunno about the massage. What I know you put some of traditional herbs or something (have to ask my mum about it). The wrap about 4 metres long. If you are interested pls let me know.
 
There is a lady who does the indonesian massage in HK. Each session is around 45 mins which includes massage and wrap.
