In search of a doctor!

I've just moved to Hong Kong a couple of days ago, I'm 23 weeks pregnant and am in the process of setting up our flat for our little arrival in January. I'm actually having the baby in Australia but need to find a doctor/obstetrician for a few checkups while i'm here and to ease my worries on a few issues. Can anyone point me in the right direction, I wouldn't even know where to start looking? thankyou

I can recommend Sally Ferguson, she delivered two of mine. You may also want to look at Dr Dawkins-he's Australian, very calm and knowledgeable, but make sure you have your questions ready, as what you want to ask may not necessarily come up in the consultation otherwise.

as an expat and fellow first-timer, i'd recommend robert dawkins. he's veeerry laid back but knowledgeable but you do have to bring your questions with you, otherwise he may seem a bit "uninvolved." we love him though and his easygoing style. his clinic is at jardine house, central. if you google him, you'll find his number for sure.

good luck!

Hi....Dr. Dawkins is moving back to Australia at the beginning of 2008 and so am not sure if he is taking new patients on.

Hi Bekyboo44

Is it really true about Dr Dawkins moving back early 2008? That's devastating news because I am with him now and I'm due mid April 2008... he's not told me yet that he won't even be in HK when I'm due. Do you know when he's planning to leave HK and if this is set in stone?

Thanks so much... Oh gosh I didn't need this extra stress...

Dr. Philip Ho. He is simply brilliant! I can't praise his team (anesthesiologist, assistant Kelly, etc.) enough.

Hi gtrivo,

I'm a fellow aussie having my first baby in HK. I'm seeing Dr Sally Ferguson and have found her to be great. She's at OT&P Wan Chai 2824 9112.

Bel :)
