Every year when the humidity comes back, we get a surge of mold growing in the corners of our rooms. This year it is especially bad and has invaded our children's room as well. We've started running the a/c again recently, hoping that it will help. In the past, we've scrubbed the wall with a bleach solution, but that only works temporarily.

Does anyone else have this problem? It's really gross and I want it gone. What can we do?

Thanks

you can put on the humidifier too. my hubby scrubbed the ceilings and painted the rooms but they are back again.

We don't have a dehumidifier. We have a small flat, so not a lot of space. We usually have the windows open, unless the a/c or heater is on.

Vinegar is the best way to stop it from growing back - bleach never works. Just wipe/clean surfaces with white vinegar.

I am running dehumidifiers in all the rooms to prevent the mold. That way I am also protecting my furniture, clothing, etc.

I haven't tried it yet, but someone told me that tea tree oil does the trick. There's a formula on the internet if you do a google search for the amount to use.

thanks for the tips. I am going to try vinegar tomorrow and talk to hubby about getting a dehumidifier.

Just got myself a couple of White-Westinghouse 4-in-1 air-conditioner/dehumidifier/ionizer/fan WDE202. It's much more effective than my old dehumidifiers from Keziah. You can actually feel the difference in the room in which they're on. I got them at Sincere department store.

Hi, dont use water or bleach....it makes more. Use dry cloth to wipe it. I guess, recently i cleaned like tht.

Tea tree, its not cheap and how much you can use to clean...no idea.

I've found that the best thing to get rid of mold is Mr. Muscle Mold Killer - you can get it in the supermarket (in an orange bottle).

It is easy to use. You spray it on, then use a cloth to spread it around, wait five minutes and all the mold is gone.
