How frequently do you see your OBGYN?

I am currently at week 28, and till now, I have been mostly seeing my OBGYN once a month. I am just wondering, when we will start increasing the frequency of the check up.. like every 2 weeks, or once a week...?

Gataloca,
I saw my OBGYN monthly until 28 weeks and then fortnightly until 36 then the general plan is weekly until delivery but as she was a little concerned I saw her more frequently from 36 weeks to delivery for monitoring.
I was at Central Health

i had two very complicated pregnancies. the longest i ever had between visits was 2 weeks... often it was every week...that is, when i wasn't being hospitalised! LOL!

About the same as Flack - for a "non-complicated" pregnancy started going fortnightly after 28 weeks, then after 36 weeks it was weekly.

my scans were at 12,20,32 and will get one at 36 and 38 weeks. from 32 weeks on, i will seemy OBGYN every 2 weeks...don't know if what i've been asked to do is "normal" or not though...

Usually at public hospital, you only get one scan at week 20. They would however use the doppler to listen to your baby heart beat on each appointment.

When you go to a private doctor, however, usually they would give you a scan each time. The reason is because the doctor charge you for each scan, and also because sometime the mum want to see and make sure that the little one is fine.

actually, that's not true. they do a scan at 12 weeks in public hospitals, too (at least they used to). the scan at 20 weeks is the thorough scan and can take 40+minutes

Oh, that is true... I missed that cause I did it in a private clinic..... Actually... not sure, cause what I had around week 12 was the OSCAR test. I thought they schedule the nuchal scan for you on public hospitals only if they consider that you have high risk for down syndrome (due to age, etc.).....

In my experience, they usually only do a quick scan (like 30 seconds) except for the big scans at 12 and 20 weeks (where they are doing downs testing and detailed organ check)
