Hello All,

My husband and I just found out we are expecting a baby and have noooo idea what we are meant to do!!

We have friends who are pregnant or have had babies but we can't ask them with out revelling.

How do we go about things, do I need to see a Dr or an OBGYN?

Does it matter which one we see if we want to do everything public??

Sorry we are a little bit clueless.

Congratulations!

Make an appointment with your regular GP and they will point you in the right direction of next steps and refer you to a OBGYN

Congratulations! Have a read through this article that should answer some of your questions. Pregnant in Hong Kong: Public vs. Private Hospitals - Hong Kong GeoBaby

If you decide to to the private route, wait till you're about 8 weeks and make an appt with an OBGYN. We have a list of expat friendly Drs in the GeoBaby directory - Popular Gynecologists in Hong Kong - Hong Kong GeoBaby

Would pop into your nearest pharmacy and buy some Folic Acid or Prenatal vitamins.

Also, Annerely and A Mother's Touch offer free info sessions that will walk you the process of having a baby in HK.

Antenatal Classes Around Hong Kong - Hong Kong GeoBaby

Hi,

My husband and I just moved to Hong Kong last april and are expecting our first baby (we are 8 weeks in). Little bit clueless in terms of going public or private and all the tests that we need to take and at which week. We booked Queen Mary (just in case) and they have given us our first Antenatal appoint for end of Jan. I think it is a bit late and want to make sure all is going ok with the baby. Hence we have booked an appointment with Dr Arbinda Ghosh for tomorrow.

Rani, i saw one of your posts on massages for baby and mom. Can you please send me the information as well? We are Indians and we would like to have the service for us.

Thanks.
