Hello!

I was wondering if anybody had suggestions as to where the best place to buy household appliances would be? Or if there is some kind of Mega store with both household and electronics in the area?

What appliances are you looking for? I like to go to Times Sq in CWB. There are 3 or 4 stores on the same level.

For a one stop shop there's Fortress- their prices are competitive, although they don't always have everything in stock, and they deliver. Plus they are located all over Hong Kong. If you live in DB, the closest Fortress is in Tung Chung, it's a relatively small one but they still have a decent range of things. Or there is one in Central in Melbourne Plaza.
 
Thanks for your advice. My husband went to Fortress and found what he was looking for.

I do have a question regarding heaters... how are the winters here? I know they don't get too cold, but I am concerned about keeping the flat warm enough for the babies. Is it necessary to buy heaters?

Hi,

I think it's not bad to get heaters here in hk, even though there will be only a few days getting cold( around 10 C ), you can put it in the bathroom while taking their baths, right??

I got one which is infra-red and it won't be too dry for my kid. just make sure they won't stick their little fingers in!
