Hospital tours?

Did anyone do hospital tours of hospitals before they booked or payed their deposits? If so, how did you organise these? Yourself, or through your doctor? (Particuarly Matilda, Adventist and Queen Mary private). Thanks :)
 
I toured both Matilda and Adventist prior to confirming at Adventist. I just called up the maternity unit for each and arranged a convenient date and time. The Matilda seem to be available for tours during the week at lunchtime and Adventist just prefer you to call up a couple of hours or so before you intend to visit so they can check how busy they are and which rooms are free for viewing.

Both hospitals are very nice and I don't think there's much difference between the two.
 
We did the same at Matilda. Pretty easy and we were the only ones on the tour. (Unlike in the US where we were with agroup of maybe 10.)
 
Wouldn't recommend Queen Mary private; you'll pay the same as some of the nicer private hospitals and get nothing like the same service and comfort.
