The government just upgraded the alert level to "serious" after an infected chicken was found in a wholesale market and two dead wild birds tested positive for H5N1. The market is now shut for a month, a cull of all the birds there has been ordered, and a ban on imports of live birds is now in effect. All other live poultry markets are to scrub and disinfect immediately.

Guess we're having ham for Christmas instead of turkey.

isn't your turkey imported and frozen from overseas?

i've never heard of a chinese turkey farmer...

Yea, they are usually imported I think (but to be honest, I'm still turkey'ed out from Thanksgiving). Just wish I could find a decent priced ham somewhere.

The best prices are usually found at the various private clubs around town.
Check your addressbook and see if you have any friends that are members of FootballClub, CricketClub, LRC, JockeyClub and similar and beg them to reserve one for you :-)

nope!

best price for a whole ham?

the frozen meat shops! i regularly get 4lbs of frozen gammon ham (no bone), absolutely delicious! usually costs me around $140!
