Dear Mothers,

I have missed my period just over 6 days and I wanted to know the pregnancy result 2 days ago. I used a home pregnancy test the first in the morning but the result was negative on the stick.

Did I test too early? Anyone experienced the same before? I am thinking of testing again after this weekend, shall I use the home pregnancy test again or better test by doctor?

I have been checking my body temperature every morning and my temperature has been up for consecutive days alrready, so it does match the sign of pregnancy.

chiuy,
When I had my first one, the pregnacy test was positive the day I missed my period. For the second one(I'm 4 months pregnant), the test was negative the 5th day I missed my period, I repeat it again in 4 days then it was positive. Strange !!!! So I guess you just have to repeat the test again.

Good Luck

Chiuy, I wouldn't bother going to the doctor yet. Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. You just need to make sure you have waited the right amount of time for testing as written on the packet. Each test will be different.

Thank you all. Now I feel better. Maybe I shall test again in a week's time.

Now comes another question, any of you took folic acid supplements in the early days of pregnancy? heard that is good for the brain developent during the pregnancy.

remember it's best to take your test with your first morning pee..

yes, folic acid is important in early development, you can also start taking prenatal vitamins. I got Materna vitamin @ Watsons.

Yes, I took my test with my first morning pee.......

Any other things I should be taking apart from folic acid and prenatal vitamins? I can get them all at once, he hee.......

The home test result is very accurate but can be affected by the hormone level -- you could be tested negative but actually pregnant. But if the test came out positive then you are definitely pregnant.

I also took materna - once a day, never missed!

Thank you all.

I had a flu 2 days ago and a fever yesterday and my period started last night for a day (usually only 2 / 3 days for me anyway).

Not sure if I was just negative as detected by the home pregnancy test, period just 12 days late (normally below 30-day cycle) or with the sickness and the medicine I took, it affected my pregnancy at such an early stage to trigger bleeding????

I am feeling very upset today, and just keep telling myself that I wasn't pregnant at all because it never indicated so.

What I need to do now is to get well and stay healthy and try it out again.

Chiuy x
