Hi

I am supposed to be on bedrest due to spotting but I have to take an intramuscular progesterone injection daily. No one at home can give it to me, and I'm not keen to go to clinic everyday for such injection.

How do I find a nurse or caregiver to come home for a daily injection? What would the cost be? I live at midlevels.

Thanks for this Rani. I called them but they cannot just give the injection ( even if there is a prescription) you have to pay the consultation fees for doctor visit, then they order the drug and give the injection. The cost of a housecall was abt hkd 2300-2900. I thought this was too pricey.

Anyone know if maternity nurses can give injections?

Is there nobody at home at all who can administer the injection? I had to take them for weeks when I was on bed rest too, and I absolutely could not do them myself (although I had friends who could). I thought about trying to find a nurse because I didn't have faith in my husband, but actually he did it with no problems. I also had a friend do it when my husband was traveling. It's not that hard to do relatively painlessly, it's just too difficult to get the angle right for you to administer to yourself. I found little video's and tutorials online and had my husband and friend watch them so they knew exactly what to do. Good luck with it anyway, having to do those injections is pretty miserable.
