Home Birth Midwife

Hello,
I am currently living in Hong Kong and am pregnant with my first baby. I have followed a few threads concerning home births in HK and the difficulties involved. Can anyone give me information about internationally trained midwives that would be willing to assist in a home birth? Or, where I could find information about international midwives willing to travel? Any information would be VERY much appreciated as I am wanting as natural a birth experience as possible!

Hi there!

Hulda at Annerly is currently the only midwife that will do a homebirth in Hong Kong, and she does not normally take first time Mums. I know Babara Harper does home births. http://www.waterbirth.org/barbara-harper---founder

Good luck finding the right one for you. You will need all the support you can get for a home birth in Hong Kong.

Evelyne, has Barbara Harper moved to Hong Kong? I thought she was based in the US? I know she came here for a talk last year. If she is indeed here, I would seriously look into having her as my midwife/doula.
