Hi All

we are planning to go for a 2/3 nights trip to beach resort. we have 2 kids aged 6 and 2
We need
Clean beautiful and not so crowded beach
child friendly resort which is not so expensive

I am thinkign between

1. Phuket
2. Koh Samui
3. Kota Kinabalu
5. Sanya

Due to some review here, I am less included towards sanya now. out of the other three, please give your recommendation about where to go.
Also pls recommendations on where to stay in the locations. Bidget around 15-18k for 2 adults 2 kids
thanks a lot!

We haven't been to Kota Kinabalu or Sanya, only Phuket and Koh Samui. We prefer Phuket because it's one short direct flight there which makes things easy. As long as you are not on Patong Beach, all the other beaches are not very crowded. Try the following kid-friendly resorts:

Laguna Beach Resort - kids club
Dusit Thani - kids club, great pools
Le Meredian - kids club, close to Patong Beach but has its own private beach

Depending on which time of the year you go, the waves can be a rather rough (July - Oct) and not ideal for the kids which is where the pools come in.

Loads of kid friendly activities to do on Phuket - elephant riding, mini golf at the dinosaur park, water theme park and the Phuket Aquarium and butterfly park would be great for your kids.

We have booked a trip to cebu for July. The resort we have booked looks very kid friendly with lots of water games and activities for children. Nothing much to do in the city though, just stay and enjoy the hotel.
15000$ for 2 adults 1 child for 5 days, Cathay package.
The resort is Plantation Bay. It has excellent reviews on tripadvisor.

We visited Koh Samui last year. It was fun, but much more expensive than rest of Thailand, and cebu.

We've been to Sanya, Koh Samui, Phuket and Cebu.

We didn't care for Sanya, but then we went ages ago. Heard positive reviews recently, but then with all the food scares I would avoid China with kids.

Thailand is our favorite destination. You can't beat the Thai hospitality and food. Koh Samui is lovely but we stayed at a villa and didn't venture out and explore that much. Flights are expensive.

We've been to Phuket Laguna a few times, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Direct flights and good packages avail on Cathay holidays. It's definitely the easiest holiday to book.

Cebu was also fun. We stayed at the Shangri La.

Thanks everyone

Hi Rani/All
thanks for this. checked and cathay holidays do not seem to have a package with these hotels. Please can you tell me if Angsana Laguna Phuket has good beach and is kid friendly?
Are there any other good travel agents or good sites with Deals that I should try

btw JW Marriott in Khao Lak seems to have some deal. Does anybody know about it? its 1 hour from Phuket. Is the beach good and how the resort and the facilities around in that area (for kids and families)

thanks!

We went to Phuket last year and stayed at Best Western Premier Bangtao Beach Resort & Spa for several nights. It has several outdoor pools, private beach and kids activities. We did all our flights and hotel bookings online with AirAsia.com and booking.com. Worked out at 13K.

I have been using this travel agency lately. They have reasonable prices, and the website is in English.

thanks all

is this the JW marriott in Phuket or the one in Khao lak

Rani, there is a deal on groupon on JW Marriott Khao Lak
, not the JW marriott Phuket

has anyone been to khao lak one? how is it? kids friendly and are there actiovites to do nearby (elehphant riding etc)

I am having trouble booking the hotels which allow 2 adults, 2 kids without needing me to book the overpriced suites etc

please can you help me choose something from here

thanks

my kids are 6 y and 2 years old and would not sleep in a different rooom especially if its a new place ..
shall I just book with 2 adults, 1 child (with bed) and then show up there with my 2year old as well. do you think it would be an issue...

(especially when they dont let me book the room online with 2 kids)

Have you tried reaching out to the hotel to ask? They are usually very helpful in such situations. Email the reservations team.

thanks yes I have written to Dusit Laguna staff. Awaiting there reply

Rani, you mentioned Dasit Laguna, is it nice? especially the beach?

Cant find the email contact for JW mariott Phuket staff. has anybody got. please let me know

lastly the JW Mariott Khao Lak has a good deal (Assuming they let us use it). but its in Khao Lak

Anmybody has been to any resort in Khao Lak? the website say they have white sand beach? Are there activities to do there in Khao lak? shall I prefer Phuket to it? I want to do some elephant ride with kids and other sort of fun kids activites. would you recommend it JW mariott khao lak?
