I'm visiting a friend in Singapore soon, what food from HK can i bring that is HK made or original? Prune/Plum preserve / dried mushroom are available in other countries.

For my Singaporean friends, they usually bring me hainanese chicken rice sauce, chili crab sauce, etc. I know that it's from their country. Wondering what is it from HK. Thanks.

The relatives ask for:
-"wife" cake or lo por pang (preferably the one from the well known shop in Tuen Mun) but otherwise anything would do
-preserved sausage or duck (lap cheong or lap ap)
-nicely packaged boxes of noodles eg the shrimp egg one or XO sauce one. Yes, they are available from Singapore but it's the novelty value

Over Chinese New Year, we brought cute lai see packets, more for the novelty than anything else. I'd be interested to see what other ideas come up as we're always stuck for ideas on this topic!

I agree about the lo por pang (wife cake). Alternatively could also try the marriage cakes (ga lui beng) from Kee Wah.

HK delicacies

My Singapore relatives always want roast goose from Yung Kee.

They also buy high quality tea and dried goods here (mushrooms, bird's nest, abalone, etc)
