HK Closes Kindergartens and Primary Schools H1N1

An ESF school. Kennedy. I really should take screen shots of some of their webpages and post them on here so that parents can see for themselves why some of are so down on the ESF system.

This seems to be a common excuse that teachers give. Way out of touch with reality of working in 2009. All of us are doing twice as much as what was being done in the same profession 20 years ago.
 
HappyV - Can you point me to the govt e-learning / standards page? I cant seem to find it. I really do need to use that to see how well the various ESF schools handled this closure.
 
I don't think there is one, Shri - but the letter that went out

does mention schools looking at other ways to provide education/learning to students and how to assess that learning.

Quite drnkly, if Kennedy aren;t supplying e-learning or work packets, then they must be the only ESF primary that aren't. (I know that Discovery, Renaissance Bradbury and and Shatin Junior have all provided such tool - I don;t know about Clearwater Bay, Quarry Bay or Glenaely).

PYP kids don't do worksheets? Rubbish. If they are claiming that all learning is 'activity' based, how about think up some 'activities' for kids to do at home?

Thanks for posting the links. Am surprised The Gov't sent out the letter to the Schools on Thurs 11th. We only got our first email from the Principal on Monday June 15th, and we didn't get a single email from our class teacher during the 2 week period. Crazy, huh?
 
Have the schools reopened ? Since last week and again this week we have seen so many primary and kindergarten kids going to school( mainly local schools)
 
There are toddler masks on sale but have you tried using one with your toddler!?!??! One of mine kept one on for 10 minutes and that was a record..... They will not wear masks voluntarily so dont count on masks.

Not sure masks protect anyone anyway! They are useful to use, if the user has an illness but are not really protective... google it for more information
 
My DD's school Sun Island is inviting her to go back one and half hours a day from next Monday, provided she wears a mask and she's not ill. I have decided to let her go as she's been asking about her teacher and friends. Anyone know where I can buy the kids sized masks? Thanks.
