Helper's dental fees

Check your insurance policy to see if it's covered. In general, dental is considered a "luxury" item and is not included in many health care covers. Our personal cover here in HK only includes routine dental check-ups, routine cleaning and other general dental work (whatever that means!) So, I'd say in many cases, most dental problems are a personal financial liability.

You can choose to be a generous employer and foot either part or all of the bill, depending on how large it is.

as far as i know ALL medical expenses should be paid by the employer, regardless of whether or not the insurance you have bought covers it.

i'd check it out with the labour dept though, just to be sure.

Just a thought... I just asked my local colleague who told me that with the HKID card, you can go to the hospital and get a referral for a government dental clinician/practitioner to solve your dental problem. So that could be a more economical option rather than going private.

Thank you all for your views, I think government clinics is not an option because she says the toothache is very painful and my guess is government clinic will take time.
