Helper UK Visa Fees

We will be applying for our helper to go to the UK with us but not sure whether she will get it. I have heard of the 1 year employment rule from this website but did not read it in the US visa website as it does not address domestic helper issues. However I hear you have to pay $3280 for the visa processing. If the visa application is rejected, will we be able to get a refund?

From my past experience your application will be rejected if your helper has not been with you 1 year. There are no exceptions. You will also not have your fee refunded. My advice is to wait until the helper has been with you a year.
 
That seems very unconscionable - $3280 just to process at the application and dismiss it. There must have been loads of complaints on the non-refund policy.
