Helper (Philippine Passport) Visa to Paris

Good weekend. We are thinking of taking our helper to Paris for Easter break.

Any experience on how easy/difficult to get a visa for her?

The process is very time consuming and there are a number of steps involved as you need to apply for a work permit (not tourist visa). the actual information they need is very straightforward. All the information you need will be on the French embassy website. I would recommend getting onto it straight away. It takes quite a few weeks to get all steps completed as you need to submit forms via email to the department of labour and have them returned to you before you apply for the visa. PM if you get stuck as I still have all the paperwork I did last year.

Thanks Aussie mom! Can they not apply a visitor visa? How do Filipino travel to France? Or is it complicated by her applying from Hk instead of Philippines and hence deemed to be working in France .....

I was told by the embassy staff here that if she applies for a tourist visa she may or may not be granted one and would need to show finances etc. I couldn't sponsor her on a tourist visa and the person I spoke to thought it would be unlikely she would get one. Whereas if you fill out all the right forms for the working visa it will definitely be granted.
