Hi
I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year. Recently, I did an IUI. This was my first attempt, but failed. I felt quite disappointed. I then had my fallopian tube checked. They are not blocked. But the doctor said my uterus seemed a bit big considering I had not pregnant before. Does anyone know whether it is a factor causing infertility? I am now 37. My time is running out.

Suggest you see specialist doctors (like fertility doctors) for more opinion. Then take it from there. Worry less as well as stress gets in the way of getting pregnant too.

I went to see my doctor today. He said it was not a problem if my uterus is a little bit big. It will not affect the chance of getting pregnant. He suggested me to try for couple of more IUI.
The doctor I am seeing is Dr Derek Lo, at Pacific House Central. Is he good?

I am 36 going on 37 and have got pregnant twice (miscarried the first time) over 3 tries of IUI with Dr. Derek Lo. Fingers crossed that this pregnancy is successful.

I think that Dr. Lo is an excellent fertility specialist and you couldn't be in better hands. Each time we tried, I felt that he was really trying to think of different variations to the medication to address the problem.

I know exactly how nerve wracking each attempt is but as much as possible, you have to try and relax. What I did on my part was try to eat more healthily (your husband included), cut down on caffeine and just in general take it easy. I've also read somewhere that exercising more than 3 times a week can hamper one's chances at IVF. So although I used to be a very active person and had to get my daily exercise, I've slowed down a lot. I figured I'd try whatever it takes since time is clearly not on our side!

I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years and had IUI treatments as well. But after a couple of failed attempts, I gave up (each time was very stressful and disappointing).

After that, I just started to get a less stressful lifestyle i.e. eat a well balanced diet and also went swimming a few times a week (as this relaxes me). I started all this in May this year. And guess what? Without even thinking about it, I got pregnant, I am now 11 weeks into it!

So my advice is to relax, don't think about it too much and enjoy your life. I have heard from so many people who had fertility probs that as soon as they gave up thinking about it, they got pregnant. So please try.... (I know it is easier said than done but it is worth it).

Thanks for your advice. I was so stressful in the last 6 months. I kept on thinking about it and looking for information on "getting pregnant" asap.

Obviously, the outcome is-the more you wanted, the more the upset feeling arised.

Now, my husband and I have deceided to start all over again at the beginning of next year - the IUI process.

During this time, I hope I can enjoy my life and do exercise as before. Be healthy.

You know, I am a Christian. I believe in God. HE will give me the best. It may not be a bad thing of not having a baby. Anyway, I will try my best and leave the rest to God.

Trust in HIM and obey in his sovereignty.
