Help! Toddler removes nappy at sleep time

Hello,
My just 2 year old has been toilet trained in the daytime for 6 months, but is still not dry at night.

I'm not worried about this as she is still so young, however she has decided she doesnt like wearing nappies at all. As soon as we put her in bed in her nappy she immediately removes it. Which is leading to her wetting her bed constantly.

As soon as she is asleep we try and put a nappy back on her, but if she wakes and discovers this, she takes it off again. Pyjama bottoms, pants over the top, all in one pyjamas and sleeping bags dont help - she simply takes these off too, sometimes even putting them back on once she has removed the nappy.

I'm trying to decide what to do next. Thoughts so far are:

1. Maybe find a washeable nappy that looks and feels more like underwear?

2. Simply dont bother with nappies at all, and buy more matress protecters and expect a wet bed every sleep time - until she herself teacher herself to be dry at night.


Has anyone else experienced this. if so how did it resolve itself.

How about pull-up nappies? They look like underwear, complete with cute pictures.

Might be a bit young for your girl still, but have you tried a reward chart --a sticker for every morning her "nappy" stays on the whole night?

Hello, thanks for your reply buckeroo (how are you?) I should have said - she already has the pull ups, she still doesnt like them.

A reward chart may be something - she is young - but I have learnt to never underestimate how much more they know than we realise. Will give anything a go.

do they make such a thing as cloth pull ups??? that might work....

Was just off to Bumps to Babes to look for cloth type pull ups hoping to trick my daughter - somehow i think she is cleverer than me :) I've got a feeling its going to be a matter of lots of wet beds and washing!
 
I would go with option 2 and use the reward chart.

When our little guy refused to wear a nappy at night, we put the potty in his room. We would take him to pee before we went to bed and once again in the middle of the night. Also got a mattress protector for accidents. He got used to the potty being in his room, and would also go on his own.
 
I have heard of people putting the nappy on backwards! Can't undo the tabs if they are at the back. Difficult if she is in pullups but if she doesn't wear them all the time then this might help.
