Hi ladies!
One question, how will you know if you have a leakage (amniotic fluid)? I went to the toilet just a couple of hours ago to urinate, and saw that I am leaking a transparent like liquid out of my urinary tract, just a teeny tiny amount. Does it mean that the baby is in DANGER? what am I going to do? Any advice? Thanks so much!

By the way, I am on my 20 weeks.

Call the doctor straight away. Had you just been to amnio extraction?

I had amnio leakage at 18 wks after taking the amnio test. I was fine for 2 hrs after being to the doctor, than the leakage started. It was bad. You wouldn't mistake it for anything else. My underpants were soaked with transparent liquid. Called the doctor. He did not even want me to take a cab to see him cos I should not be moving. He advised I should immediately lie down, prop my feet up knee high with pillows and if the flow did not stop in 3 -4 hours, I need to be admitted to hospital. Luckily it did stop and I had to sleep with feet propped for 2 days just to be safe.

Rgds

yup, u should check with ur doctor. i had the same thing towards 30 weeks, had to keep changing panty liners (at that time i didn't even know what it was, clear liquid). only realised when i went for my next regular checkup and doc asked me if i was leaking cos the amount of amniotic liquid is low. i was advised to rest and then it was ok.

It depeds on how far along you are. If it is leaking and you are not close to being due, that is ot good. Risk of infection. if you are close to delivery, 85% of people who have their water break before labor starts will go into labor in 24 hours, for those that don't you will probably be induced. Obviously if you are not very close to delivery, your don't want a preterm baby so they wouldn't induce you, but watch you and baby for signs of infection. sometimes small leaks seal themselves off again. You definatly need to call your doctor about this whether or not you are close to delivery. It might just be pee, but it is very easy to test for which it is at the doctor's

Thank's everyone. I am on my 20 weeks of pregnancy. Went to TYH 2 days ago to have a check-up. The doctor told me that it's not the amniotic fluid that leaked, maybe just a plain discharge. But just to make sure they will run some tests to confirm what it is. The baby is fine.

Thank's for those who replied! :thanks
