Hi, did you look at buying health/medical insurance for kids?

Which do you like / recommend?

Thanks!

not us, we've stuck with the local gov't hospitals and private drs for every day/common problems. so far, so good.

we did look at it at one point, after my son had a 41C (under the arm) temp (which means it was higher by at least a degree)... had to take him to the dr in DB after hours and paid $1800 for the consult (he had a bad ear infection in both ears)

when we called around to find out about insurance that included out patient services, we figured that we would never recoup the cost (i was quoted about $10k/year!!!!)

We bought hospitalization insurance only, as outpatient plans are really expensive unless your kid is sick every other week we didnt think it's worth it.

We were with ihi bupa before, if you get insurance for one adult you get 2 kids covered for free. We've switched over to Nordic ( bit cheaper), and getting kid covered for an extra fee. Option for hospitalization or hospitalisation + outpatient benefits. You can pm me for further details if you want.
