Health checks for DH

Just wondering if it is common to require a health check for DH before signing the contract, even if she is already in HK for several years? Also, do others require followup checks periodically?

My advice is Yes. We had a problem with our first helper, cos after signing the contract etc, we found out at her healthcheck that she is unfit to work as the sole caregiver for the baby (when we are at work).

Yes, I think it is quite common to require a health check even if the DH has been in HK for several years. After all, the DH's health condition can change even if it was okay when she first came to HK. I have not asked my helpers to have periodic health checks, but I have heard of others that ask their helpers to have a health check upon contract renewal when they return from their annual leave.

i would definitely have her do a health check - if there are any problems you will at least know what you are dealing with (in the long term) if there is nothing wrong, at least you can sleep well knowing that everything is ok

Are you on the HK side or Kowloon side? For our helper, I used World Expert in Central and they seem pretty good. (I believe their clinic/lab is in Melbourne Plaza on Queen's Rd Central.)

It was over a year ago now but I think their pre-employment DH pckg cost around $550 back then.

World Expert: Hotline 2890-3808

Good luck!
