Hi there
I will be at home with my baby so dont need full time help but was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good baby sitting service / nanny who could look after baby for the occassional afternoon / evening etc?
I live on DB.

Thanks!

yes, we used rent-a-mum while waiting for our helper to arrive this summer. they were great!!!! all the babysitters are mostly british and we used them 4-5 times for babysitting our then 8-9 month year old son. we had no problems with them!

Somebody I know has used them when they went away for a weekend and they wanted to give their helper another hand for those 3 or 4 days (just for one or 2 days). I think it's about US$15 an hour or so ... well, that's what I used to pay back in the States for 3 children as well, in the big city.

We used Rent-a-Mum last week for the first time and they were fabulous. Really helpful and friendly and considering my request was last minute they were able to find someone. I definitely would use them again.

agreed - we were scared to leave our son with someone who we didn't trust / didn't know. the first time we used rent-a-mum we were just away for the min 3 hours, but as we got more comfortable (we used the same person), then it became easier. rent-a-mum services all the big hotels - Pacific Place Serviced Apts, Mandarin, Four Seasons in HK so that have a reputation and are legal. It's pricey, but worth it for the safety of your child.
