Does anyone know of a good gym class for toddlers (3 years old) on the HK island side? I heard about the Little Gym on the TST side.

There's MyGym on HK side. Heard there's a long wait list. Might be easier to get in now that a lot of people are away. We did the Gym classes at the YWCA, which were ok.

I bought my son when he was 10 months to http://www.kindyroo.com/home.html#
It was nice but I thing he was too small & I assume it's better for older.
You can call them and book a trial session for free and then decide is you apply or not.

a review of most of the 'kids gyms'

I regularly consult with a group of friends who are parents who have had similar experiences at different "kids gyms" across Hong Kong and our opinion of the gyms have been quiet consistent:

- The Little Gym: two gyms, one in TST, one in Shatin. Overall, below average. It's nice looking place, but instructors change all the time, poor customer service, not very much community among parents and the staff are very fake (they pretend to be nice, but it's obvious they are pushing you to buy classes). Management seems to be noticeably absent most of the time. I heard from one of my friends that a kid even broke his arm or something. I have a lot to say because I've had the worst experience here and was hassled by more than one of the managers there (some guy with glasses as well as a lady). And if you think i'm making this up, READ the OTHER Posts on Baby Kingdom and AsiaXPAT about this place. But if you don't mind having your kids breaking body parts and getting maltreated, by all means go for it!

- Kindy Roo: one gym in Central. Overall, below average. Convenient locations, but poor quality teachers, unimpressive environment, and they don't seem to hire the most qualified people. They had little knowledge of kids development and even what the exercises were all about. Teachers seemed to also change (but not as much as Little Gym). But if you don't mind meeting people who know less about physical exercise than even you, then try it out!

- My Gym: one gym in Central and one gym in Hung Hom. Overall, average. One nice thing is that the teachers seem to be more knowledgeable and they don't change as often as the other two above. But the activities didn't seem very interesting and a lot of this stuff can be done at home. So it seems to be way overprice for what you're getting. But if you don't mind paying for something that is pretty much a waste of time, then it's for you!

- Panda Junction: one in Central. Overall, average. It's got similar pros and cons of My Gym, but at least I liked the staff and the activities. One big difference is that this program was developed in Hong Kong and you can get a bit more of that personal feel. I personally didn't care for it compared to sports classes, playgroups or church activities for little ones, but I guess this one is worth trying if you're going to try anything.
