I am going to buy one and hope to hear which brand/model is reliable accurate and easy to use for baby? pls let me know average price too, thanks!

what's the brand/name, will take note to avoid...I saw quite a few Made in Korea brands in local pharmacies, wonder if those are any good, a bit skeptical though thats why I am posting for more feedback and comments

Have been through about 3 and now, finally, feel I get reliable readings from a Braun. Easy to operate and simple.

braun ear thermometer. fast (good for squiming toddler), easy and can be used by the whole family. it's accurate enuf, i've never really compared it w/ anything other my own touch

It's got good reviews.

My braun ear thermometer died for no reason. Changed the batteries but it seems it's off by .5 degrees. Anyway used the free one from Wellcome (Kuhn Rikon) tolerable, off by .1-.3 degrees. Safety first digital thermometer is good for non squirming babies. But I found a really good one. Beurer Pacifier Thermometer for babies and the forehead thermometer for kids/adults. They are accurate and very easy to use. Finally, I also bought the old fashioned mercurial thermometers. I got the ones from Watson but found it too difficult to use or rather easy to make a mistake. Found another mercurial at the Chinese Dept Store. So far so good.

Now only 22.40GBP at amazon.co.uk (HK$268) with free penguin!

for a baby a regular digital thermometer under the arm is best, it is very difficult to get a good seal with an ear thermometer on children under 2 and then you won't have an acurate reading

is the digital thermeter used in the bottom? my doctor recommended that I buy one of those and use both the braun one and that digial one interchangebley because apparently if you use it wrong (the ear one), the temperature can be off by 0.5 and in a case of emergency that's a lot....so then I could use the bottom thermometer for increased accuracy...I guess for confirmation (so sorry I sound paranoid...but my daughter just had a febrile convulsion and it's just too scary to want to live through again...)

thanks! :)

got 1 of those made in Korea ones its really hopeless and now I got 1 of those that you just need to scan the forehead. Its really good and also easy to use. Its also very hygenic

forehead ones can be found at Eugene Club in Central....i would recommend the ear ones though..those are more reliable in comparison (or so I've heard)...
