We are looking at the possibilty of moving from HK island to the Gold Coast.

We will be having a look this coming weekend.

Any thoughts or opinions on this? ... It seems so cheap for the facilities you can get!

Where is work? If it is HKI then you are going to pay for transport and time to get to/from work.

I found it just too far away to move, even though accom was much less out there.
 
Yes, that is the biggest concern for us! I do not work (will be going back to full time education once the bay is born in Jan) but my husband does (in Central).

There is a shuttle bus that apparantly takes 30 minutes, but I fear this is NOT in rush hour!

I think this will be the thing that we have to consider and weigh up carefully before we make a decision - more space and luxuries versus not seeing daddy as much. Although now he normally comes home at around 18:30, which is not bad compared to lots of workers in HK (he has a blackberry and often works at home in the evenings).
