Glider/Rocker

So I'm checking back and see no responses...i'll assume that means glider/rockers are'nt used or sold in hkg.
hmmm

I have asked a couple of people living over in HK about gliders and they have never seen them, but they are now looking for them.

Well, that's a relief. My wife sat in one the other night while we were at Babies R Us and said she had to have one. We figured they were made over there and were hoping not to have to hijack a container to get one.
I had checked HK Ikea as well G.O.D. with no luck.

I sat in a glider/rocker at Babies R Us also! They do look great, and seem comfy, but the reviews I read on them said they were bably constructed & many buyers disappointed.

For a few hundred (usd) more it's probably best to order a quality/durable chair, and pay for the shipping to hkg.
Looks like thats the route we'll be going, since glider/rockers are non-exisitant here. (sigh)

I've used a basic wooden rocking chair before, and it was ok...but these upholsted glider/rockers are soooooo comfy!

i got my glider/rocker with a rocking footrest as well from bumps to babes (Ap Lei Chau). very nice one. baby is 6 mths now and we have been feeding in it. it took a few months to order it in though (it travelled from Canada to UK to HK :o) so check that place, they have a catalogue and would order for you.

We'll have to look into the quality issues. It was probably 9 pm after a long day when she sat in it, so that added to the comfort factor.

Bumblebzz, yes, mine is pretty much upholstered. some wooden parts at the ends of the rocker but i think it's close enough, it's super comfy. but the chair is kind of on the small/medium size. i'm tiny so i still need cushion paddings, but it's on the tighter side for my MIL who is much bigger than i am. anyways, go try it out at bumps to babes, they have a sample on the floor.

Sleuth, yeah I hear ya. I also tried out a couple of those cushy glider rockers after spending hrs on end shopping in that huge babies R us...did feel good at the time.
But after reading the reviews & testing out a better quality chair at Bellini, I figured I better look around more.

You can get the real thing from Bumps to Babes, but I saw a second hand one for sale on AsiaXpat, it may still be there.

i have one and I love it.
