We never leave home for trips with a portable DVD player with our toddlers favorite DVD. Makes plane trips, dining out in restaurants, getting shots at the doctor soooooo much easier!

We have travel packs! Back packs that only come out of the cupboard when we are traveling. Each one has activity packs, crayons, stickers, those glow things you make bracelets out of, McDonalds toys... I try not to include anything that we will miss if it is lost! I also have a pop up tent in the shape of a Zebra that we put up in the hotel room for the kids to play with. Again, it only comes out for holidays so that the toys are fresh and interesting!

Our Top Family Travel Tip is to: Pop our business cards into the pockets of the kids' pants every morning while we're travelling in case we get separated by accident.

My biggest tip is to do your research and plan ahead! I recently took a trip with my two daughter's to a country we'd never been to before. My husband couldn't join us due to work. The only way I felt comfortable doing that was researching and planning and knowing what we were going to do every day. Of course i allotted for some down time, too, but I would have been so frazzled had I not done the work ahead of time.

My biggest tip is to bring our helper if it's possible. It makes our life easier. I have an extra hand to help me feed, bathe, etc the kids so we can relax and have a good time.

My Biggest tip is to pack 2 extra pairs of clothes for baby AND me for the flight. I have seen some very nice armani pants (RIP) stained with spinach and formula on the flight. And get a baby harness -- soo useful!!!!

Traveling is so much more fun for us now... we download new games for our toddler on ipod and she keeps busy for hours whether its on the plane or dining in a restaurant.

Don't forget your medications especially antihistamine as this stops your children from becoming agitated on long journeys.

We bring miniatures of things he love. He like movies- ipod with almost thumb-size speakers. He like cars and trains - diecasts. He like drawing- mini scribble board. He likes books- mini boardbooks. Even different mini snacks for variety. Small stuff = more stuff!

after travelling alone with a new born and a 2 year old for what turned out to be a 36 hour journey....taking my son for a 10 day trip to thailand to get his teeth fixed and taking a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old next month to canada by myself....

i'd have to say that the most important thing to pack is.....

a sense of humour!

(oh, yes, and don't forget your bag containing wallet, ID, credit cards, atm cards, iphone & photos of the kids on the beach in pattaya!)

Our Top Family Travel Tips are to:bring medication, a few already wet clothes and a change of shirt for both of you...never know when you little darling will spit up on you.

Thanks! It really came in handy when we lost sight of our (then toddler) son at Singapore Zoo and someone was kind enough to call us on our HK mobile. He was just around the corner from us in the end but it would have taken so much longer for us to figure out where the lost and found/information counter at the zoo was etc etc..
So now we do that first thing without fail every morning when we're traveling and getting the kids ready for the day.

Our top travel tips anywhere - is to take your child down to the playground to run around before going to the airport, they will be so tired that they will sleep right thru (if short flight) or at least let you have some time to eat while they snooze for a few hours. Some gummy lollies to chew on so that their little ears wont ache while taking off and landing. Dont forget their favorite teddy and blanket - the smell help them relax and fall asleep.
If this does not work - hand them over to the air stewardess to take them walking around the plane again and again...:-))

I've travelled to a) Singapore(trial run) and then to b) Canada by myself with a 2 yr old and 5 yr old. My travel tips:

1)Give them each a travel carry-on luggage that they can cart on their own...gives them a sense of independence and they feel grown up and proud to follow. Hv them pack a few of their own things in it. ie snacks, favorite toys, 'quite' toys like games, or activity books, crayons and a pack of tissue in everyone's bag.

2)Pack extra clothes(for you and kids), medicines, thermometer snacks and a magazine for yourself on your own carry on. Those TV screens are great during flight but you'll need s/thing for them to play with or snack on during take off and landing..so little baggies of their favorite snacks to hold them over. (nothing too sugary though!)

3) Prepare a list of each traveller's travel documents and necessary ID cards and type it out all onto ONE page...when it comes to fill out those forms on the airplane/airport...it's all in front you. Carry a pen ..always.

These little things helps make travelling more enjoyable and fun for everyone!!

i would NEVER "give" my kids to the air hostess to care for... they have enough to worry about, like people's safety, to be taking care of MY kids.

i do the same things that mambo does.

Must Bring for my boy 2.5yr:
- sleeping pal (his cuddly toy)
- a throw (blanket)
- his favourite book

And let him carry some of his own stuff, he will feel proud having his own backpack!

Our Family Travel Tip is to send everything in advance to wherever you go so that we don't need to carry heavy baby things all the time!
