Getting crayon off the walls

Does anyone have any secrets to getting crayon off a wall?

note to self: do not leave markers/crayons/paints on the easel unless 100% supervised as son things all things white is paper : (

I was in Admiralty ParkNShop yesterday and they sell WD40 in a pen form. You know WD40 - it's the spray you use on creasy hinges or to remove residue from stickers or grease from cars. On the packet it said that it worked to remove crayon from walls. I haven't tried it...but it might be worth a go.

Jusco $10 shop sells these melamine sponges - in the US it's sold as "Magic Eraser" Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Original - but the Jusco ones are exactly the same. They work wonders on marks of all kinds, especially on the walls. And you just use them with water, and they're a bit abrasive (so don't use them on anything too delicate or anything that would scratch really easy) but I use them on any kinds of hard to get off marks, especially on walls and also in the sink/on tiles etc...

Been through this. WD40 works well on smooth surfaces (table tops/toys/gloss paint etc) but didn't work well on paint (the colour smudged on our walls with it or the paint came off if i rubbed harder).

For walls, used an old rag and a hot iron placed over. The idea is that the crayon melts and gets 'soaked up' by the cloth. Seemed to work ok but not totally clean and ended up getting new paint to make it look better....

Mom's do know best!!! WD40 only worked on the floors (smudged the walls like Slamdunk had said) , but I knew there was a reason why I had kept that Eucalyptus oil around - it worked perfectly on the painted walls.

Thanks everyone!

The other thing that works is toothpaste (only the original white paste type, not gels) and a slightly damp cloth. Works wonders on painted wall and gets off any type of stain (but don't let the helper know yet otherwise she'll start banging the vacuum around knowing that the toothpaste will get her out of trouble).
