gestational sac smaller than expected

Hello,

We had our first prenatal visit today with Dr. Wilfred Wong. We liked the doctor, he takes time in explaining everything.

I am supposedly 6w4d today but the sac was smaller than expected (dr said it is 1.1cm when 6w4d should be about 1.5cm) so he asked us to come back after at least 10 days. The appt is on Oct 22, hopefully with very good news that everything is ok.

May I ask if any of you had experienced this? Dr said everything is normal except the size, no sign of bleeding at all but he still gave me Ultrogestan for progesterone. Dont want to be so worried but can't help being at least a little worried.

Sorry, more info: Dr said that it looks 5wks instead of 6w4d. I could have ovulated later than my usual 14days (almost always 28day cycle).
 
Unless you know when you ovulated you have no way of knowing for sure how far along you are. So try not to worry too much and hopefully next time you go back they'll be a heartbeat to reassure you.
 
I heard the same news at 5 weeks and baby is now healthy and still growing at 30 weeks! So try not to worry yourself and baby will be fine :)

both of my kids always measured about 2 weeks small.... i had to convince the drs that i knew exactly when the babies were conceived. they are now healthy 6 & 8 year olds!
 
Thank you carang!!!:) it's really nice to know that this is not as uncommon as I have thought. You're so good at keeping dates including the conception day!:)
 
It was easy. My husband was house sitting for someone so i knew exactly when the deed was done...lol :D
