Fruit juice for baby

I read from somewhere that we should not give fruit juice for baby as it will lead to dental caries.
I havebeen using baby rice mixed with Garbur fruit juice for a week now! Will it do any harm to the baby?It seems to make him poo everyday, sometime twice a day (but not runny...sorry!). He used to go every 5 days when he was on solely breastmilk. So I thought it does him good but then I don't want any side effect such as tooth problems in the future.
He has 1 tooth so far.
Any suggestion?

i used to mix rice cereal with a little prune juice to keep my two regular. it hasn't hurt them. they are eventually going to have juice, etc so a little won't kill them or their teeth. just keep the amount under control.

u probably can make it 1 oz we also gave our son prune juice but we used 2 prunes as he also pooped once a day

fruit juice causing dental caries is usually in reference to giving baby fruit juice in a bottle. Mixing with cereal and in a sippy cup is OK as it is not wedged in the mouth for a continuous period of time

"Tooth decay occurs when the enamel, which is the protective coating on the teeth, breaks down. The mouth naturally has bacteria in it. When a baby drinks liquids through a bottle, the liquids can pool near the gums and teeth."

"......Baby bottle tooth decay occurs when any liquid other than water is in contact with the teeth for a long time."

So don't worry! :)

But do we need to clean his tooth and gum at night? I'm doing that by using dry gauze pad. Is that ok? or wet is better?

I asked my dentist about how to pretend new baby's gum and teeth. He told me not to worry too much, just give baby some water (very little) after meal, day time and at night both. Then use wet pad to wash baby's gum, at least once before baby goes to bed. When his first tooth comes out, then use infant toothbrush.
So, I think any food you give to your baby won't hurt his tooth if you could wash baby's mouth after.

right now, i'm still adding my BM to my gal's rice cereal. So, does tat mean i can add the Gerber Apple Prune Juice into her cereal too? The 1oz, is it diluted or just take 1oz direct from the jar?

For teeth cleaning, we shud use boiled water and not tap water rite? Oh dear, we have to do it daily before bed time? Me nurse her to sleep now. :(

I find it hard to find time to pump so I use Gerber instead. I used to add it straight but now diluted it to 1:1 with boiled water.
I used boiled cool water to clean his gum. plus after meal i try to get him o drink a little water.
