Hi ladies, I just booked St. Paul suggested by my OB Dr. Mok. Just got a bit worried coz St. Paul seem pretty far away from Central... I am just worrying - what would happen if I cannot get into the hospital ASAP etc. Do I call an ambulance to get to St. Paul? Am I just worrying too much or I should go to Matilda or other hospital closer by?

St Pauls, in Causeway Bay?

This is a 10 minute ride from Central. Don't worry!

Is it that close by? I went there today to put up deposit (by MTR & walk), felt like almost an hour... I have to think about traffic jam etc... But I hope to be able to arrive in 30 min though....

i think that when you are in labour, you will not likely be walking and taking the mtr. i'm guessing that you are new to hong kong. it would take you at least that long up the winding road to matilda!

first babies rarely arrive quickly. they usually like to take their time. you won't have any trouble making it the 3-5km from sheung wan to causeway bay.

You'll most likely be in a taxi when going to the hospital...in that case, both are about the same distnce away. Also, as it's your first baby you should have sufficient time to get to any hospital. You will definitely arrive within 30mins. Just make sure you tell the taxi driver to go the fastest route...which I am sure he will given that he probably doesn't want your water to break in his car. So, no need to worry...hong kong really is quite small.
