Fresh milk after turning 1

My pediatrition in the US told me to switch to fresh whole milk after my son turns 1. I don't know why I didn't ask him why because I noticed in Hong Kong most people continue with the different stages of formula. I am not sure what to do now, to give him fresh milk (what brand) or continue with formula. Please advice :bwinky

re: Fresh Milk

Hi Daizy
I gave my daughter fresh milk when she was around 13-14 months old also recommended by my UK health visitor. The reason I think HK mothers still give them forumula is because of all the vitamins and minerals etc added to the formula which they think is beneficial. (my friend still gives her son formula and he is 27 months old! and he is a good eater). Too be honest if your child is getting a healthy balanced diet, then I think you don't need the formula. At the moment we use Pura Masters (from Australia) or Nestle Milk (local) whichever is available. The others are too watery or don't even taste like milk.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Shirley :) I bought Pura today but haven't given it to him yet. I think I'll start slowly and see how it goes.
