I am thinking of starting my almost 8 month baby on 1 bottle of formula a day, so I can stop expressing at 1 am! To date he has been exclusively breast fed, and I have no idea what sort of formula would be suitable for him. Any advice much appreciated.
I think Aptamil 3 is for 6+ months so I would start him on that. Aptamil 1 is for newborns and so would have different nutritional value. Hope this helps
I`ve got some Meiji `rakuraku cube` powder milk that my MIL brought over from Japan. I never used it as my son was only breastfed.
I want to sell it anyway - i have 2 boxes - PM me if you`re interested.
I introduced formula to my BF baby at 9 months. My ped suggested NAN HA. He rejected it and many other types of formula after that. He finally accepted Enfamil and only from our helper. It took us about 2 weeks to get him to drink from a bottle and he really had to get comfortable with it before he accepted the formula from me. Good luck.
LEMJ, are you giving it to him? He might be rejecting because it's you. My husband gave my baby his first bottle of formula so the 'alternative' wasn't in front of him... He will take the bottle from me now though. We use
Babynat organic formula which you can get at B2B and City Super.
Success! Took a long time but he took 4 floz bottle of Bellamy's from me tonight. Spent most of the time chewing on the teat, but got it down eventually! He is already used to me feeding him EBM from bottle at bed time, it is just the taste that he is unsure of now.
