Hi there,

Can anyone remember the words to the second verse of
The Grand Old Duke of York?

It has been driving me crazy for days - since a friend asked me. I used to know them and since then **** song is running around in my head and won't budge till I have the whole thing sung..

I've got as far as;

He marched them to the left
He marched them to the right

At which point I'm going la la la la

Please HELP ME!

The Grand old Duke of York he had ten thousand men
He marched them up to the top of the hill
And he marched them down again.
When they were up, they were up
And when they were down, they were down
And when they were only halfway up
They were neither up nor down.

He marched them to the left
He marched them to the right
And then he marched them upside down
Oh, what a silly sight.

:cheerlead

Sara - Thanks So very much

Now can remove the Grand Old Duke from my head - I hope.

Once upon a time it was the likes of Madonna or Robbie Williams stuck in my head - wow how times have changed!!!

Somehow the Duke has always been sung "the long version" in our family. The verse that I posted comes after yours...
