Flu vaccine

Have you given this to your kids? i went to see the pedia today and she recommends my 17 month old boy to have the vaccine asap.
 
getting it today for the 1st time 1st dose today and 2nd dose in 4 weeks. I know it is late,
 
Hi Neha,

Better late than nothing. My pedia said baby should have it next week (he has runny nose now), so the more it's late, told her that winter season is ending so no need.

Just got his shot done. I told the dr the same thing that winter is near end but she said it is better to do it even this late as this flu season may be prolonged.

Hong Kong is in the peak of the influenza season, and it is expected to continue for some time. The viruses responsible for these outbreaks are seasonal influenza viruses, and the information available to date indicates no marked variations with 2006 or 2007 flu seasons.
Although the current seasonal influenza vaccination may not match the circulating strains exactly, adults and children who have not had an annual flu vaccination should consider having one.

The US CDC recommends flu shots for all young children and adults around young children (among other groups) because what might put an adult in bed for a week can kill a small child.
