First time getting a helper- any advice?

Dear all..

We planned to have a helper and is in the process of arranging for a helper fr philippines thru an agency. This is our first time getting a maid so I am pretty nervous about it ESP when come to handling my daughter who is only 18 months. And often I heard a lot of bad stories abt helper...

Can someone give me some advice and tips so that I can get it started right?

I'm also in the same situation. I need to hire a helper for my 19 month old and my soon to be newborn due in November. I am worried about how to manage a new person living in my home. How to balance expecting her to work vs respecting her as a person. How do you deal with task delegation and how do you determine her days off? Do you give all the national HK holidays plus 1 day a week? How much vacation time and what happens if you don't like her? Severance pay? If anyone can recommend a good maid or agency please PM me!
