My baby is 7 months old. She started solid when she was 6 mth. Now her scheule is 8am (solid about 80ml +formula 5-7oz), 1pm (5-6oz), 4pm (5-7oz) then 8pm (solid 120ml + formula 2-3oz).

1. some books suggest giving solid at dinner time and a bottle before bed. But my bb sleep after her 8pm meal.
is it ok, just giving her solid only on her last meal before bed??

2. she drink less formula after we started giving her solid. sometimes she can only drink 19oz. is that a problem? should i reduce the amoutn of solid food, so that seh can drink more? (so far her weight is ok)

thx.

why don't you give her dinner around 6pm then a bottle around 8pm beofre bed? that will give her a little time to digest the food an dbuild up her appetite for more milk before she she goes to sleep.

My 7mth old follows almost exactly the same routine.
He likes to have his milk before his solids, and I've found if I give solids first, he isn't interested in his milk at all.
I've tried giving the solid feed earlier, and milk before bed but he doesn't like it.

I do his last feed at 7pm and he then goes to bed between 7.30 - 8pm. It works fine for us, and he has no trouble getting to sleep, and he sleeps through.
I can't see why giving solids last is a problem if thats what works for your baby.

It's normal for them to cut back on milk when they start solids.
Her milk intake is OK, they generally need a minimum of 18oz per day until they are 12 mths.

thanks carang and matty,

i did try to give her solid at 6pm. and as matty said, she refused to drink her bottle before she goes to bed.
so i guess i will just stick to my routin. But when should i start giving her 2 solid meals (no bottle afterwards) a day?
