Family friendly weekend activities/clubs/venues.

It's our first summer in HK.

It's become too hot for us to be out and about even by the poolside on the weekends. Our family now waits till about 4 or 5pm to head to the pool. Bub is getting bored with the confines of our apartment.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do with my bub as a family that is not out in glaring sun? Is there a family friendly club we can join that will also allow us to socialise with other parents on the weekends?

Thanks.

We joined the AMC last year for that reason - it became too hot or wet for us to do much outdoors. Between the skating rink, playrooms and summer camps, the children are never bored. Usually meet the same people there regularly. Major downside is the chunky joining fee, but you can sell it on the secondary market when you leave.

I think the Football, American and Cricket Clubs are also very family friendly.

Mumof2, what's AMC? Is that the American Club or something else? Do they have a website?

aberdeen mariner's club. but the corporate debenture now is HK$1M+. does anyone know if there's a way to get membership cheaper?

Unfortunately, JoanneK, I'm not sure that there is a cheaper way. In the past, you could lease a membership from someone or a company that was not using theirs, but I believe that the club has clamped down on that.

The LRC is another option, but I think they've got a waiting list.

Another alternative is the YWCA, they are running lots of children's courses this summer.
