Found out today that my second IVF hasn't worked. Still have 3 frozen embies. Have done 9 IUI's and 1 FET as well . Am wondering if I need to get a second opinion with another Doc. Have been with my present one from 2001 and though he is lovely am keen to see what someone else has to say.

Was wondering if anyone else has changed docs and found different protocols. Would love to hear from you.

Hi Olivia!

I personally think its best to get a second opinion. I havent gone through as much as you but have been doing IUI's since Feb. Went to three other fertility specialist and they all had different opinions and somewhat different protocols. Definitely quite different to the one I was with. Even I erally liked my previous Dr but it came to a stage where nothing was happening and I was sort of in the dark so I went in to chcek a few Drs around and glad I did.

Thanks AC1234, just the kind of stuff I want to hear . Don't know why but I was beginning to feel a bit guilty going for a second opinion.

Good luck with your IUI's, are you combining it with acupuncture as well.

Hi Olivia!

Yep started out with accupuncture but I've thought of giving it a break for w hile. Cos when you have appointments almost every day its not easy, should I be telling you!!!

I dont know who'm you've been with but some of the famous fertility specialist are Dr Philip Ho, Christine Choy, Derek Lo and Milton Leong. Call me crazy but I've been to all of them. If you want to share what I think of each of them drop me a pm and will get back. Good luck and hords of baby dudt to you!!

Hi AC1234,

I sent you a pm, hope you received it. Can't wait to hear from you.

Hope you're having a nice relaxing sunday.

Hi Olivia and AC1234,
I've had 3 failed IVF before we were finally successful. My doctor chnged medication and all for each attempt as he could not figure out what works and what not. I hear some doctors are not as flexible in terms of treatment, so I was quite happy with the one we went to. If the doctor keeps trying only one way of doing things, then I would think it is worthwhile to get a second opinion!

Hi Mousugumama,

Great to know that it worked for you the third time. Just knowing that is an inspiration for me.

If it is possible could you please send me a private message and tell me the name of your Dr as he seems quite nice and your protocol in brief. My problem is that I have very low E2 levels and though they were monitored, the double dosage gave me a mild case of OHSS , but again we were told that all looked fine, it still did not work though. Wish we could know where it went wrong.

Not sure if another Dr. will take up my case halfway so have decided after much thought to finish this entire cycle with the present guy and then if it doesn't work , find another. Any info from you would really help as you have gone through it all.

Thank you for being an inspiration. I was coming close to giving up and making this my last attempt when i got my -ve results but now I am ready to do it all over again. Will start the procedures for my 2nd FET next week.

Thanks so much for sharing and eagerly look forward to your message.

Have a good evening

Olivia

Hi Olivia,

I don't have any personal experience to share but I can tell you that one of the best IVF doctors in Hong Kong is Milton Leung. He is at the women's clinic. I know he used to be the head of the ivf center at the hong kong sanatorium hospital (one of the best in HK), not sure if he still is. Hope this helps. and all the best of luck!!

Thanks Avi, if my second FET fails I will definately see Dr. Milton. I have heard from quite a few people that he is really good.

Thanks agaion for the suggestion. Take care.

Hi Olivia

My doctor is professional to assist his patient to get pregant, I have seen him from last Dec and get pregancy in May. I have set the timing if I can't make it, i wll do the ivf in June, but I was so luckly. I heard from him that he has done 13 case of ivf from last 6 months, 11 case was successful. I have also met 2 pairs of couple from Singapore and doing the ivf treatment, one of them was successfully 2 years ago and now want to get their second baby.

His name is Dr Clement Chan, he is working with QualityHealth Care in Admirity, he has done a lot of research of people can't get pregant. Compared with Dr Milton Leong, the clinic of Leong is more comfortable, lastest equipments but Leong is always out of town and sometimes in hurry (consultation fee $800 + ultrsond $800). The clinic of Chan is more simple but Chan can give you more time, u can ask many questions and he will answer u very clearly, that's why u need to wait at least 30 min to 1 hour each time. (consultation fee $750 + ultrsound $500, ivf treatment around $75,000).

So, u can see both of them and see which one you feel more suitable for you, if u still have others questions, u can send mail to me.

Good luck

mabeln
