I have been with Dr Lo for a couple of years, through infertility diagnosis, IUI and IVF. The first fresh IVF failed. The second FET was a success. We recently tried our last frozen embryo but, sadly, I just got a negative result on my pregnancy test.
I am considering whether to change doctors moving forward. We have had success with Dr Lo, and I like him on a personal level, but I always feel that he is never really on top of my case. I always have to remind him of the most basic things, and so I do not feel that the advice he gives me, in our very short 15 minute sessions, can really be based on a his knowledge properly applied to a thorough understanding of my problems and history.
I know he is busy, and I know he has lots of patients, but I still think a doctor should make an effort to refresh his memory before he sees a patient. Coming in for my last scan before my recent FET, he walked in and said "so the question is, how many are we going to put in?" I only had one embryo so he clearly didn't even read my notes.
Anyway, as I said I do like him but I am wondering whether I should change.
The question is - are all other fertility specialists the same? I.e. super busy, short appointment times, forgetful of your personal case details, applying general principles to your case etc.?
Would appreciate any thoughts.
