Evening dress?

Not strictly a parenting question or related to babies (except I'm a Mum wanting to look stylish!) but thought the Mummys on this forum might have some tips for where to find an evening dress in HK that doesn't cost a fortune. I don't really want to spend more than $2000. Been to Sparkles and they have some nice things but almost all upwards from HK$2K.

although it can be hit and miss in terms of what's there, i have had luck at the pedder building...but with all the revamping going on, i'm not sure if the shops are still there. from memory the 6th and 4th floors are particularly good, but i usually start at the top and work my way down (well...pre-kids i did, anyway!)
 
I've also had some luck at Pedder Building but haven't been there in over a year. No idea what's going on in there at the moment! If anyone has any idea, I'd love to know, I've got a wedding coming up in a month and should get a new dress, I think ;)
 
Thanks all. Pedder Building is pretty much emptied of the clothing stores. Sparkles was there but has moved to the building next to M&S. Will try Figaro. Any other suggestions most welcome. Hard to find a floor length gown as opposed to a knee length evening dress.
 
Thanks. Will have a look in M&S but think they only have long dresses at Christmas time. Horizon is a possibility - haven't been there for ages.

Went to Pedder today and there are a couple of clothing shops still there for the next month. Some nice knee length dresses but limited range of long ones.

Did a search on found another site recommending Evelyn B in Central - anyone know if it is still around and, if so, the address.
 
no i think evelyn b's gone, i think she's gone into retirement, i recall going to her 'closing down' sale (where i got really really cheap quality boots). unless she's reopened elsewhere that shop shouldn't be there anymore...
 
Thanks rani. I am less keen to try online unless I know the sizing of the particular store well. Will check them out though as a second option to finding something here I can try on.
 
Island Beverley in Causeway Bay, across Sogo near MTR exit E. A shop there sells evening dresses and do alterations for them. I don't remember the floor, though.
