etiquette at hospital?

i'm wondering what is commonly done here in HK to show appreciation to the nurses/midwives who've been helpful at delivery/postpartum time. i'm checking out tomorrow and i just thought of it--woops! any good last minute ideas?

I just sent a card with a photo later, letting them know how we were doing and thanks for their efforts and support. I wasn't organised enough to think of anything more tangible! But I am sure they appreciated getting some form of thanks and a progress report to enhance the human interest of their job.

We gave nice looking (and great tasting) boxes of cookies to our helpful & friendly nurses. It was a last minute thinking too, as our family picked the cookies up on their way to collect us from the hospital. It wasn't in Hong Kong though.

Sara.

We gave them a basket of Body shop goodies, since I noticed that the nurses washed their hands alot, and would therefore use up a ton of hand cream everyday. :bump:
