ESF Kindergartens and Primary

Hello,

Can anyone advise how many hours of Putonghua are taught at ESF Kindergartens and Primary schools these days? I heard that it's more than it used to be, but don't really know how much this is? An hour a day? Half an hour?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

My son was at ESF Kindergarten. There was one Mandarin teacher who would float from class to class. He learned a few songs and vocab but I never heard him speak. He's now in P1 and they have Mandarin 2x week for 40 mins. 6-weeks into the term he's more confident with the language. He's counting to 10 and learning to write the characters.
