ESF Kindergarten - does this mean there are still places avail

Hello There

I received a phone call from ESF yesterday offering a time to attend their kindergarten. My child has special needs so what they will do is place DS into a class with a few other children to see how he copes and interacts etc whilst someone assesses him. I then have an appt with the principal to discuss.

I've come across so many hurdles searching for a provision that will accept my child so I don't want to get my hopes up.

ESF did explain that they would have to make sure they would be able to meet my child's needs first, but does anyone know whether this appt at their kindergarten mean that they have a place available? Or do they interview all applicants?

Please someone reply to me. I'm getting all anxious over this! Thanks so much.

That's great news! Difficult to say if they have space, but looks like when they do they will be willing to accommodate him if all goes well at the interview. Fingers crossed!

They don't interview all applicants. Good luck!

Small World also has class where they put the special needs kids with other kids and monitor. U can also apply there if u like

Thank you for your replies Nani and Reha.

I have looked into Small World. The provision there sounds great but unfortunately as we are located right in the heart of Sai Kung I feel it's too long a journey to ask my child to travel every day. He attends a specialst school in North Point now and a 8:30am start means a 6am wake up already.

Hi Dummie

I sent you a PM - interested to know about your experience at ESF.

Can anyone else can share their experience about ESF open teaching classroom? Does it get too noisy for the kids to focus on what is being taught?

I visited the ESF in Sheung Want and found it quite different structure than other Kindies. IS there any benefit of the open classroom structure?

Thanks!
